2015 Chinese flexible packaging consumption reached 607 tons
Asia is the
region's largest consumer, accounting for 40% of the global total, 2015 to
2020, flexible packaging consumption will average 6.6% growth rate. India and
China are the fastest growing flexible packaging consumption, the two countries
are expected to reach an annual growth rate of 9.4% and 6.9%.
It is understood
that this year nearly 75 percent of flexible packaging products for food
packaging, including meat, fish and poultry is the largest amount of food
items, candy and baked goods followed. 2010 to 2015, the consumption of food
flexible packaging with an average annual growth rate of 4.0 percent, beverage
and drug consumption growth followed.
As consumers of
convenience packaging and the pursuit of sustainable packaging in the past 10
years, flexible packaging market demand has been the fastest growing category.
According to Smithers Peale Institute estimates, this year's global flexible
packaging market demand of $ 210 billion, consumption was 26.2 million tons,
market value of $ 91.7 billion.
The next five
years, the flexible packaging market demand will average 3% rate increase to $
248 billion, consumption will average 3.8 percent rate of increase to 31.7
million tons, the market value will be 4.4 percent annual growth rate increased
to $ 114 billion.
